Joe DeMitchell

Joe DeMitchell (born October 26, 1964) is a retired professional ice hockey player who played four seasons in the minor leagues.
==Career==
DeMitchell started his career in 1985 with the New York Slapshots of the Atlantic Coast Hockey League, scoring 60 points in 58 games. The Slapshot would change their name from the New York Slapshots to Troy Slapshots after the 1985-86 season, but DeMitchell remained with the team. DeMitchell would open the 1986-87 season scoring 7 points in 6 games before the Slapshots folded. DeMitchell was one of several players claimed by the Mohawk Valley Comets in the ACHL's Dispersal Draft. DeMitchell helped lead the Comets to the Bob Paine Trophy, but the Comets would eventually lose to the Virginia Lancers four games to three.
DeMitchell would follow his Comets coach Joe Selenski from the ACHL to the AAHL for the 1987-88 season, where Selenski formed a roster of players to play in Johnstown, starting midway through the season. DeMitchell scored 17 goals and 36 points in only 19 games, but would lose to the Carolina Thunderbirds two games to one.
DeMitchell finished his career with the Erie Panthers, scoring 12 points in 14 games.
